ANIMAL FARM
| This Animal Farm documentary was filmed during my 3 month residency with TAG Theatre Co. from October to December 2007. It features interviews with many of the key players involved in the the stage production at Dalbeattie High School, original music composed and performed by the students as well as rehearsal and performance footage providing a detailed insight into the processes involved. | In addition to this I was commissioned to film the entire stage production (1hr 15mins) over its 3 night run, using a multi-camera setup, as well as take the production stills.
I then edited and authored all of these components into a DVD package which was presented to TAG Theatre Co. in March of 2008. There is a further option to view Animal Farm, in high quality 10 minute segments on youTube, by clicking here. |
Patrick Geddes - 'Renascence' Man
| This documentary was commissioned by McManus Galleries, Dundee in 2004 to accompany an exhibition celebrating 150 years since the birth of Patrick Geddes, who was a great visionary and innovator in town planning and education. The narration was written and performed by Matthew Jarron and this formed the backbone of the documentary which I built upon with archive materials, filmed sequences and interviews with Geddes experts | at the University of Dundee. A large portion of pre-production time was spent sourcing photographic and pictorial archives across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee and there is fortunately still a wealth of these related materials to be found which richly illustrate the documentary. I also filmed various key locations, important in Geddes's professional and personal life, to further compliment the narrative. |
